Hi, I’m Shaina! I’m a first-generation Haitian American passionate about using design to solve real problems and create meaningful change. I’m studying Media Management and Technology at the University of Florida, focusing on human-centered interaction.

In my freshman year, I founded Gator User Design, UF’s only UX/UI student organization, after realizing there wasn’t a dedicated space for students passionate about design. I now serve as the senior advisor, leading workshops, mentoring members, and fostering a growing design community.

My experience spans user research, UX/UI design, and product management, shaped by hands-on projects and leading design teams. I love brainstorming innovative ideas that make technology more accessible, inclusive, and impactful for the people who use it. When I’m not designing, you can find me trying new recipes, reading, discovering local bands, or (trying my best at) playing tennis. At my core, I believe great design is about empathy, creativity, and community, values that continue to guide everything I create.

Accenture - Song Summer Analyst

I documented user stories, helped manage projects by tracking team velocity and burn rates, and used my Salesforce UX design training to create better solutions for users.

Flordia Community innovation (non-profit) - UX Design Intern

I led the UX design for a training verification platform supporting hospitality chains in anti-human trafficking efforts and streamlined the interface to make training evaluations easier and boost user engagement.

Involvement

I also co-directed UF's first Design-a-thon!

Figma Campus Leader
Selected to represent Figma on campus and lead initiatives that promoted collaborative design. Organized and facilitated workshops that trained students in Figma’s tools.

Gator User Design (GUD)
Founded UF’s first UX/UI student organization and grew it to 200+ members through recurring events, hands-on workshops, and guest speaker sessions with industry professionals. Led design teams in creating solutions for local businesses and nonprofits.

Computing for Social Good (CFSG) Lab
Conducted user research and co-designed a nutrition app aimed at reducing food insecurity in Gainesville by aligning design solutions with community needs.
